how this all came together

The relationship between Kapitol Identite and Twin Diplomacy goes back many years. Ty, Jazz, and Darius first became close through their time at Shattuck-St. Mary’s, where their shared love of hockey and years spent playing together helped build a strong friendship. That bond has carried well beyond the rink, eventually becoming the foundation for a creative collaboration.

Over time as their paths evolved, Darius and his twin brother Marius began putting more energy into music and eventually formed Twin Diplomacy. Music had always been part of their lives, but the project started becoming more serious as they developed their sound, began producing more consistently, and started playing shows. Darius eventually stepped away from hockey to pursue it fully, and over time Twin Diplomacy grew into its own world of music, live performance, visuals, and community.

At nearly the same time, Jazz and Ty were beginning to build Kapitol Identite. What started as an interest in clothing and design gradually turned into a brand and creative outlet of its own. The brothers were drawn to vintage references, old graphics, music, photography, and pieces that felt worn-in and personal rather than overly polished. As Kapitol developed, those influences became a bigger part of the brand’s identity.

Because the friendships was already there, the crossover between the two projects happened naturally. Music has always been a big part of Jazz and Tyler's lives and often inspired their design process, while style and visual identity became an increasingly important part of how Darius and Marius approached Twin Diplomacy. Over the years, conversations around clothing, artwork, photography, shows, and future ideas became a constant.

When Twin Diplomacy began preparing for their first headline tour, Better Place, it felt like the right moment to finally bring those worlds together. Jazz and Ty worked alongside Darius and Marius to create a collection that reflected the energy and identity of the tour while still carrying the design language Kapitol Identite had been developing over the years.

The collection draws inspiration from vintage tour merchandise, Americana, worn-in sportswear, motorsport, handwritten lettering, washed fabrics, and clothing that becomes better with time. There is a nostalgic quality to the pieces that reflects the history behind the project itself: a group of friends who first met as teenagers through hockey and eventually found themselves building something together at the intersection of music and fashion.

TD Better Place Tee

The Tees became the most direct connection to the tour. The graphic pulls from traditional concert merchandise and vintage tour shirts, using the Better Place identity as the foundation while keeping the piece simple enough to live beyond the shows.

Mustang Signature Hoodie

The Mustang imagery brings in the American, slightly rugged visual language that runs throughout the capsule, while the handwritten Twin Diplomacy artwork makes it feel personal to the project. It was designed to have the character of something you would keep wearing long after the tour ended.

Mustang Sunfaded Hat

The washed finish and embroidered artwork give it the feeling of something that has already been worn for years, which became an important part of the overall direction of the capsule.
